D Day Word Search
D-Day, on June 6, 1944, put Allied troops ashore on five Normandy beaches code named Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. About 156,000 soldiers crossed from England by sea and air in the first day of a plan called Operation Overlord, under the command of General Dwight Eisenhower. The D in the name was ordinary military shorthand for the day an operation begins.
